I have a JD 455 with 60" deck. Haven't looked lately but the tractor should be around 350 hours. It is in excellent condition. I had thoughts of getting a ZTR and would entertain an offer if you're interested. I'm in the far SW corner of Missouri - near Branson.

Thanks for the input guys. I bought the 5' Monroe Tufline TB160 which weighs 483 pounds and cost me less than $400 with tax. This is cheaper than bologna. I looked at three models and the Bushhog at 500 lbs. looked to be the heaviest duty, but for over $100 more than the Monroe and the same weight I didn't think that for the limited use I will make of the tool it would be worth the extra bucks.

My dealer tells me 5 second. I have a 4200 collar shift. By accident I found that if I rev the engine up to 1200 or so rpm before trying to shift that it generally eliminates the grinding. I'm no mechanic and can't explain why - but give it a try.

If you look at the 790 give the 4100 and 4200 a look also. I keep my 455 for cutting the lawn but bought a 4200 w/loader and 12

I have a 4200 with 10 hours on it. I have not had any clutch problems. They do tell you to allow 2 seconds after depressing the clutch from neutral before shifting gears. It I do that the gearsd do not grind. This is the collar shift model. I have the 420 loader and Danuser 20/40 posthole digger - so far everything has worked flawlessly.<br>

You should shut the engine off - then operate your hydro control in all positions to bleed pressure from the lines - then make the connection.<br>

No it is not hydro. You can't find a hydro anywhere in the US right now from what I've been told. This is the standard collar shift 9f/3r. I put about 3 hours on the machine today and had no trouble with any functions. I bought the R4 tires and think that perhaps I should have taken the R1's. The machine had power to spare, but traction can be a problem. I was moving several piles of stone and pushed one dead tree over so I can saw it up tomorrow. Poked two holes with the Danuser 12

I had a 4200 CST w/420 loader and post hole digger delivered today. I bought it yesterday and was fortunate that is was on the lot. The delivery person told me that all 4000 series with hydro are nealry impossible to get right now. I have a JD 455 lawn/garden tractor with 60
